FEARLESS IN THE NAME OF LOVE
– It takes a village to bring a product to market, even more so, if you have a mission that this product should have the responsibility of creating social change in the world. It’s almost our 1-year anniversary and we have been from joy to hell and back. Sometimes we wonder if we should have saved the rainforest instead. And then some things just fall in place and we know we will always be “fearless in the name of love”.
We are more than grateful, that we got a LOT of help; right from day one, there were the teams at Nerd Communications developing our identity and look and feel and the teams at Embassy of Dreams. Not to mention our absolute fabulous perfumer Geza Schoen, and the super talented packaging designer Christian von der Heide, all gifting relentless hours into our vision. Still, everything we did had a very homemade feel, as most start-ups do.
A few months ago we received one of the greatest gifts and while we are still a long way from playing with the big guys, this made us feel really understood and grown-up. While we were never capable of visualizing our vision, because a single picture would always channel just one special perspective, and was never inclusive enough for what we wanted to say – this artwork topped our wildest hopes and dreams. The awesome people of Service Plan Munich (full credits below) gave us this amazing advert and this is probably one of not many places, where we can show its uncensored version. And when we did so for the first time, one of the younger employees in an office I had a meeting in, held his breath for a second and than he said: Wow whoever briefed this managed to put every single image that anyone could possibly hate on in one picture. That was when it hit us again, why we do what we do, what we fight for and why we fight for it. Because one thing is for sure: the person who briefed it put all the images into the picture that she loved and truly and surely believed in. Are we fearless? – No, we chose to fight for love.
